Agriframes Premier Fruit Cage

All fruit cages are 2m (6ft 6ins) above ground height. Supplied with long-lasting polypropylene netting, the standard side netting is a strong 20mm (3/4ins) mesh in one piece.

All cages come as standard with netting, fixings and one door. We offer two choices of finish on the framework: galvanised is the traditional and durable way to protect steel, or why not try the black plastic coated steel version - the weatherproof finish that never needs painting and always looks great. INSTALLATION TIPS

PREPARATION. We suggest that the area is fully weeded first, weeding around  uprights can be time consuming so best to prepare the soil in advance.

TIME. This depends on how many people and the size of cage but as an example, a 2.5m x 5m cage should not take 2 people more that 1-2 hours, tools and ladder required!

INSTALLATION. All cages are supplied with a ‘hole maker’, which as the name suggests, makes a hole in the ground ready for your upright. Simply tap on top of the hole maker (all explained in instructions), sink the upright into the hole and refill with soil. No extra filling of cement etc required.

Cages can be supplied with patio feet if being installed on a hard standing / slabs etc.

FINISHING. Wood skirting is not provided as it is not often required, and often not used at all. Some people like to baton the netting onto a skirting, especially if the cage is going over a raised bed / sleepers are being used. Or, if the cage is on hard standing. We can provide skirting if required. Ask for the price when you have made your size choice, but it will be about £2.25m

• Most cages, if galvanised at all, only have galvanised finish on the outside so are prone to corrode faster.
• Agriframes fruit cages are supplied with metal joints, as opposed to many that are simple screw together poles – the nature of the screwing action naturally wears away any galvanised finish making it a weak spot for corrosion. In addition, our joints are supplied with moisture seals to keep rain/dew at bay.
