Grow Your Own Raised Beds for Care Homes

We are offering you the chance to contribute towards the cost of providing Raised Beds for Care Homes, so that the residents can become involved in growing their own food.

You pay for boards at £4.00 each and we supply the posts. Plus to make sure we can provide as many as possible, for every two Raised Beds collected, The Recycle Works will donate the third!

The campaign aims to provide at least 50 wheelchair height raised beds to local care homes with the hope that they will encourage lots of gardening activity and intergenerational activities for residents and their family members.

Says Sylvia: As a 79 year old myself, I feel passionately about passing on lifetime skills and gardening is something that I love doing with my grandchildren. There are so many people who move into care homes and would still love to be able to continue growing their own vegetables and spending time passing on such skills, and we want to be able to help them do just that.

She continued, We’d love as many people as possible to help support our campaign and it’s so simple to get involved. All you need to do to make a difference is donate £4 via our website which will then purchase a board for a Raised Bed. You can even dedicate the board to someone special and we’ll send them a note to let them know you’ve done so! We can all help make some else’s life that little bit more special so please do donate today and help us ‘raise beds for care homes!
