Rostaing guarantees high quality and compliance with European and British standards (BS EN 388) issued by a certified laboratory.
Beyond minor risks, there are four types of serious mechanical risks defined by the standards:

1. Resistance to abrasion:
This is the 1st figure on a scale of 1 to 4 levels of protection.
2. Resistance to blade cut:
This is the 2nd figure on a scale of 1 to 5 levels of protection.
3. Resistance to tear:
This is the 3rd figure on a scale of 1 to 4 levels of protection.
4. Resistance to puncture:
This is the 4th figure on a scale of 1 to 4 levels of protection.

Therefore, a glove with a 4242 index offers:
level 4 protection against abrasion
level 2 protection against blade cut
level 4 protection against tear
level 2 protection against puncture
Each glove has its own product declaration. Gloves are graded for particular jobs and specific characteristics regarding four criteria.
